JOIN THE JUDGING PANEL

THE ROLE

Judging panel members are responsible for independently reviewing and assessing nominations against the award's published criteria, and contributing to panel deliberations to determine the award recipient.

The judging panel comprises members of the AMaGA National Council alongside external representatives from across the sector. All panel members are expected to approach assessments with fairness, confidentiality, and an understanding of the breadth of volunteering roles within Australian cultural institutions.

Panel members should anticipate:

  • Reviewing nomination submissions (including supporting letters and materials)
  • Participating in panel deliberations
  • Maintaining strict confidentiality throughout the process

WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Our judging panels comprise individuals with diverse backgrounds in the sector, covering exhibitions, curation, design, publishing, education, and public programs.

Serving as a judge presents an excellent opportunity to support the museum and gallery sector while contributing to the momentum and excitement leading up to the Awards Ceremony at our National Conference in November.

Panel members must not have a conflict of interest with any nominee. Where a conflict arises, members are expected to declare it and recuse themselves from the relevant assessment.
